Motor Vehicle Fuel Theft
750.367c Theft of motor vehicle fuel.
“The secretary of state shall suspend the operator’s or chauffeur’s license of a person convicted of an offense or attempted offense under this chapter involving the theft of motor vehicle fuel that occurred by pumping the fuel into a motor vehicle, as provided in section 319 of the Michigan vehicle code, 1949 PA 300, MCL 257.319.”
Have you been charged with theft of motor vehicle fuel? This change can have serious ramifications for your license and your life. The Secretary of State will immediately suspend your license upon proof of such a conviction, meaning you will not be able to drive, and if you do you will face a misdemeanor driving while license suspended charge. Unless you can afford a driver, or have friends or family who are willing and able to drive you around, this will present a real problem in maintaining employment, familial, and community obligations. At Garmo & Kiste, PLC we have represented Defendants who faced this exact situation.
